Recently, Roanoke Pharmacy hosted a “Girls’ Night Out”, featuring food, drinks and a chance to give back while having a fun night with friends. This being a charitable event, there was great community support and the generous store owners offered a free gift bag of goodies to all who donated items for SafeHaven. Donated items included tons of plush towels, as well as essential toiletries, later delivered to SafeHaven to show support for its mission of Freedom from Domestic Violence.
This was an opportunity to raise awareness of domestic violence, as well as to support the moms and children starting their lives over again in a safe environment. Roanoke Pharmacy is known locally as being a strong community supporter. It is not only a drug store, but a charming and unique gift shop, well-supported by local residents. SafeHaven and Mid-Cities SOS received lots of support, as evidenced by the many packages of donations collected. Our sincere thanks go to employees Mellany Gibbon and Meri Sue Ramsey, and Kathy and Scott Palmer (owners).
