Leah Shaver, one of our long time members, was in HEB Hospital for three days right before Easter. She is most grateful to be home now with a new lease on life after having received three stints in one of her arteries. Thankfully none of the other arteries were affected and there was no damage to her heart. Please keep Leah in your thoughts and prayers that she may continue to improve.
Congratulations to past SOS Treasurer Dr. Velma Walker on her award for Leadership and Community Spirit from the Colleyville Area Chamber of Commerce. Velma was also the Chamber’s Youth Leadership Coordinator for 2013. More about Velma and her family may be found in the Chamber’s recent “Connect to Colleyville” publication.
Gay Johnson is an amazing woman. After multiple screws and rods in her ankle/leg and intensive physical therapy, she has been riding her bicycle, pursuing her Pampered Chef business (standing on one foot) and driving. Her upbeat attitude and good humor are inspiring. We continue to wish her good health and hope to see her during the Tennis Benefit at the Southlake Tennis Center in May.
In Memorium: A memorial donation will be sent to SafeHaven for Alicia Lee Skeats, daughter of long time SOS member Lee Koch, who passed away April 20th. We extend our deepest sympathy to Lee and her family.
